This summer, our Durango program will be moving into a brand new, state-of-the-art child care facility, designed with top-notch early learning spaces as well as modern safety and security features to support quality early childhood education, collaboration, and care. Position Summary
This position provides janitorial services for Durango North Head Start and the Head Start Central Office in Durango, CO. The custodian helps maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition while following all health and safety procedures.
Duties include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, emptying trash, stocking soap and paper towels, disinfecting with EPA-registered disinfectants, completing minor routine maintenance, and other duties as assigned. The custodian reports needed repairs to the Center Director and Facilities Manager and assists with snow removal, debris cleanup, and ice melt application during assigned shifts.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Hours: Flexible late afternoon or evening schedule when center is closed
Pay Range: $19.30-$22.04 per hour, depending on education and experience

Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning preferred
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance preferred
- Background checks are required for hire
